What is SEO?

According to the Digital Marketing Institute, SEO stands for ‘Search Engine Optimization’, which is the process of getting traffic from free, organic, editorial, or natural search results in search engines. It aims to improve your website’s position in search results pages. Remember, the higher the website is listed, the more people will see it.

  • Good SEO involves many different activities, such as:
  • Identifying relevant keywords with good search traffic potential
  • Creating high-quality, useful content and optimizing it for search engines and for users
  • Including relevant links from high-quality sites
  • Measuring the results

Can I do SEO myself?

Yes friend, you can.  While it's awesome if you have the budget to hire someone to do the SEO research you need to ensure your content gets found by the right people, there are ways you can find the right keywords easily yourself.  They are

  • A wordpress plugin like Yost
  • A keyword search engine like Semrush
  • A good 'ole fashioned Google Search
  • My favorite hack----Pinterest!

Wait What?  Pinterest?

You read that correctly.  Pinterest.  It's an amazing platform that is a search engine by nature, and links closely what pinners are pinning that are relevant to your search.  THEN it neatly gives you a list at the top of your search, above the pins it found for you that narrows down your search.  In essence....keywords.

WALA.  Instant SEO keywords you can quickly find, understand, and utilize in your content.  With a bonus of being able to pin other content to your own boards for future use in research and enjoyment.

And oh yeah.  It's FREE.
